Somewhere, around the sea..

I flew into JFK airport this afternoon and flew along the Jersey Shore to get there. Seeing the boats and water as I was coming in for a landing made me think about one of my favorite flights from last year. Last summer I went to Maine in the middle of July and it was absolutely beautiful. From what people tell me about Maine in the winter, it is unbearable, but Maine in the summer is worth the trip.

Cool crisp air, salty air blowing across your face, the mountains behind you every where you go, and don't forget the LOBSTAH ROLLS!! Lobster rolls are similar to a very fancy seafood salad on anything from a hotdog bun to a hoagie roll and sold at road side stands, upscale restaurants and McDonalds! I tried to pick up one almost everywhere I went.

I would love to spend some more time exploring the northeast corner of good ol' USA. Any takers wanna join me?

Party in the USA

Today (and this week, oh and last week) I have been experiencing quite a few moving pains. Enter all of my complaints here: credit card fees, banks fees, trying to sell my car, trying to sell the washer and dryer, the Uhaul contract not being closed, needing to stock up on make-up the list goes on and on! Aye-yi-yi!! All I know is, I thought I would be on vacation these few weeks before I packed up and moved and I am most certainly not!

Oh but how I will miss all of this I'm sure. Or maybe what I'm trying to say is, the ends are worth the means?

Some of my best friends threw me a going away party that was all America themed.  I thought I would share some of my favorite moments.

Hi Humidity!

So it's been pretty rainy around here lately. I had a garage sale this past weekend and I swear by 7:15 a.m. the humidity was over 100%. Is that even possible? Let's just say for dramatic effect.. it is.

Right about the time I realized the air was a thick as pea soup I wished I was back in New Mexico. I've traveled there more than a handful of times here and there and places in between. I've danced in the gazebo at Old Town in Albuquerque, walked Canyon Road in Santa Fe, visited with world renowned artists in Taos, toured Spaceport America near T or C (Truth or Consequences), sand sledded in the White Sands Monument in Las Cruces. One thing is for certain, you are always having a good hair day in New Mexico!

Packed in like a sardine in a hot air balloon, happy as a clam!
